Doug’s Take

The R34 Nissan Skyline GT-R is a legendary and iconic Japanese sports car, boasting the famous “RB26” turbocharged 6-cylinder engine and excellent technology for its time. This particular R34 Skyline GT-R shows relatively low mileage, and it boasts some great factory equipment – including a Super HICAS rear-wheel steering, a helical limited-slip differential, Brembo brake calipers, and much more. It also touts just a few modifications, like BLITZ Damper ZZR coilover suspension, and an HKS Super Turbo cat-back exhaust system. Plus, this Skyline GT-R is offered with an accident-free CarVX report AND a U.S. title, so the long process of importing a car from abroad has already been completed. This looks like a great Skyline GT-R, and I’m sure the next owner will have a permanent smile behind the wheel.

Highlights

THIS… is a 1999 Nissan Skyline GT-R, finished in black with a gray interior.

  • This GT-R is a right-hand drive, Japanese-market coupe currently titled in Virginia. Reportedly imported from Japan in March 2024, it’s equipped with a metric instrument cluster, and the odometer currently displays about 140,100 kilometers, which represents approximately 87,100 miles.
  • The Japanese CarVX history report provided in the gallery indicates no accidents or mileage discrepancies in this GT-R’s past.
  • Factory equipment includes 18-inch wheels, a helical limited-slip differential, Super HICAS rear-wheel steering system, a rear spoiler, a multi-information display on the dashboard, and more as detailed below.
  • Modifications reported by the selling dealer include an HKS Super Turbo cat-back exhaust system, BLITZ Damper ZZR adjustable coilover suspension, a Pioneer head unit, and more as detailed below.
  • The R34-generation Skyline GT-R was introduced in 1999 and was available exclusively as a coupe. It was slightly shorter than the R33 and was seen by enthusiasts as a return to form for the nameplate. The R34 was powered by the famous RB26DETT straight-6 and featured an updated interior with a then-futuristic dashboard-mounted screen. Production ended in 2002.
  • Power comes from a 2.6-liter twin-turbocharged straight-6, rated at about 276 horsepower and 289 lb-ft of torque when left stock. The modifications could increase those figures, but a dyno sheet is not available. Called RB26DETT internally, the engine spins the four wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission.
